So I'm not entirely sure how they chose moderators for OkCupid, but despite not being active on it, I had an e-mail come through telling me I had been given moderator status.
There's a whole bunch of new, non-medical acronyms I now know (LA = leave alone, NTU = not the user) and Google image search is shockingly accurate at naming pornstars from a single photo.
How could I possibly say no? I'm almost tempted to make an entire blog about the amazing things it throws up, but sadly this would be
#1) NSFW 90% of the time
#2) Not very nice as a mod to do
So instead, I'll just share my favourite ones of today with my Mod comments at the side (the second one should have said "artist model" but I was too busy trying to calculate the age she might be today, oops). Needless to say, I wish this were my fulltime job and I wish I were getting paid for it, though I think the entertainment value is something you can't buy, let alone be paid for.

So long, 2014
So, 2014, it's time to say goodbye. This year has been spent with me plodding through my 26th year of existence. I was no longer considered a "young person" when it came to Railcards, which as far as I can tell was the only thing to be bummed out about.
Lots of my friends have been getting engaged, married or inseminated. There is a lot of growing up going on, which is an odd thing to face with the knowledge that the next step in your own career will leave you with the title of "junior".
Despite all of this I'm actually extremely happy with where I am and so here's a little bit of 2014 reflection. Yes "reflection", sorry.
1) Being thankful. Being grateful for what I have has made 2014 utterly fantastic. And by "have" I mean "friends". Having spent the majority of 2014 single I spent
There is nothing that will make you feel happier about life, in my opinion, than laughing with friends. Most important lesson of 2014.
2) Well and truly not caring about inconsequential rubbish.
Pretty self-explanatory. Takes some practice and I still slip up every now and then, but getting a grip on this has led me to trying to use my third point a lot in 2014...
3) Taking the moral high ground.
A phrase which in itself makes me sound extremely smug, but hear me out. What I've come to realise throughout my 20s is that you have a degree of control over how you feel (see point 2) and, more importantly, how you react when other people wind you up.
The "moral high ground" is the term I'm probably incorrectly using to choose to react with love and positivity to negativity. Sort of a "haters gonna hate but I'm gonna give that hater a hug". Even if it comes across as sort of backhanded at the beginning, it's still something...
It can be hard when someone is so obviously being malicious, but nothing irritates someone with a negative agenda than the object of their focus being unaffected or, even worse, kind towards them. After irritation hopefully comes reflection on their part and, if I've learnt anything from Disney films, might even make them happier and stop the cycle of nastiness.
The downside is getting the balance between being nice and not being trodden on. That's one to work on in 2015.
4) My life has been improved with .gifs. See this post.
So that's it, really. Lots more to learn in 2015 no doubt but saying goodbye to 2014 with a smile on my face and wishing anyone who reads this (probably me, to check that it posted correctly) a happy New Year filled with love, terrible dancing and pop culture references.
